Hey Reader,

I’m happier to see you than a dog hearing “Walk?”

Here’s a thought…

Your podcast could be crushing it on YouTube, but if nobody knows it exists, does it make a sound?

That’s the forest-falling-tree dilemma most podcasters face. You’ve got the perfect thumbnail, keyword-packed titles, and content that would make your mom proud. But somehow, your download numbers are flatter than day-old soda.

Here’s what’s wild: everyone obsesses over platform algorithms while completely ignoring the goldmine sitting right under their noses.

Your dream audience isn’t just hanging out on YouTube waiting to stumble across your show. They’re scattered across the internet like confetti after a New Year’s party.

Think about it. Your ideal listener probably belongs to LinkedIn groups, Facebook communities, or follows specific hashtags on X. They’re reading industry blogs, scrolling Pinterest for inspiration, or nerding out in forums you’ve never heard of.

But here’s the secret sauce nobody talks about: associations. I’m not talking about your neighborhood HOA (though they probably have drama worth podcasting about).

I’m talking about professional associations, hobby groups, and niche communities that exist for literally everything under the sun.

There’s an association for people who collect vintage lunch boxes. There’s one for professional whistlers. I kid you not, if three people share an interest, someone has probably started an association for it.

These groups are treasure troves of information. Member directories, upcoming events, industry magazines, and best of all – people who are already passionate about your topic. It’s like having a GPS that leads straight to your target audience’s front door.

Your podcast guests are walking promotional machines too. Most creators just hit publish and hope their guests remember to share.

Meanwhile, smart podcasters hand their guests a complete promotional toolkit – logos, images, sample social posts, the works. Make it so easy they’d feel guilty NOT promoting it.

If you’re ready to stop playing the guessing game with your podcast growth and want personalized strategies that actually work, let’s talk. I’m offering 15-minute discovery calls where we’ll dig into your specific challenges and I’ll share actionable tips you can use immediately.

No pitch, no pressure – just real advice from someone who’s spent 30+ years in Major Market Radio figuring out what makes audiences stick around.

“Behind the Mic”

I won’t forget THIS day!

See… A 35-year-old vet just stole a tank and crushed 40 cars in San Diego.

Most Radio stations would cover it and move on. But while everyone else was talking about the damage, we saw dollar signs. Not for us – for charity.

Within hours, we were on the air asking people to bring their mangled car parts to our parking lot.

“Got a crushed bumper? We want it!”

The idea was nuts. Who brings destroyed junk to a Radio station?

Apparently, everyone.

Our parking lot turned into the world’s weirdest flea market. People dropped off twisted metal, shattered headlights, and door panels that looked like tin foil.

Then other folks started showing up to buy these “pieces of history.”

One guy paid fifty bucks for a side mirror that looked like abstract art. Another woman wanted the most flattened bumper we had – said it would make a great conversation piece for her garage.

The phones never stopped ringing. “I’ve got debris from my fence!” ,

“Can I donate my mailbox that got clipped?”

Every single dollar went to Rady Children’s Hospital.

We raised thousands from what everyone else saw as worthless junk.

The secret? We knew people love being part of something bigger than themselves, especially when there’s a good story attached.

Same thing happens when you host a podcast or run an event. The magic isn’t just in the content – it’s in making people feel connected to something meaningful.

Want to create that kind of engagement? Let’s talk about what’s holding your show or event back. (Book a call with me below)
